Shannon Harris is the Co-Founder of Brave Heart Maternity Home. She has 13 years of experience in the behavioral health field. Eight of those years serving in a leadership role. She has served on the ACBHC commissioner’s board for two years and on the ethics board for one year. She is experienced in helping to create and launch outpatient, crisis, residential, and recovery housing programs. She holds a Chemical Dependency Counselor Supervisor certification, CDCS; and is a National Certified Addictions Counselor I, NCAC I.
Additionally, she is attending UAA, working toward a bachelor’s degree in human services.
Shannon is a devoted wife, mother of five, and proud “nana” to two beautiful grandchildren. As of April 2024, she celebrated 17 years of sobriety, which she attributes to her faith. Because of her own personal experiences with homelessness, substance use, and pregnancy, along with the stigma surrounding these challenges, fuel her passion to advocate for vulnerable pregnant women.
